Seafreeze / City Ice Expands Leadership Team
Seattle, WA—February 1, 2011 – Seafreeze / City Ice, the leading cold storage provider on the Port of Seattle, announces today that industry veteran Bonnie Geise has joined their leadership team as Vice President of Business Development. This is the latest addition to a company that has grown significantly since being acquired by Bay Grove Capital in 2009. Geise, an industry veteran with two decades of cold chain experience, was most recently with SCS Refrigerated Services, an industry competitor.
Geise is noted for her deep knowledge of both industry operations and business development. She is also a board member for the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) and a respected outspoken advocate on industry issues. “Bonnie is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about operations, sales, the North Pacific market, and what’s going on in the industry,” says industry observer Benjamin Milk. “She’s a consummate professional and a great addition to an ambitious and growing cold storage operation.”
In her new role, Geise reports to Kim Suelzle, President of Seafreeze / City Ice, and will be responsible for maintaining the firm’s core fisheries market as well as continuing the expansion of its growing business. Geise will be based in the firm’s operations center on the Port of Seattle. “We are thrilled to have Bonnie on our team. Our business is expanding because we are continually seeking new ways to add new value for customers. Bonnie will be another source of that value,” stated Suelzle.

Record Volume Year for Port of Seattle
Seafreeze / City Ice, the leading port-based cold storage provider in the Pacific Northwest was not alone in a record volume year. Business all across the port was up. As reported yesterday in The Seattle Times, The Port of Seattle set a new record for volume in 2010,including a 47% increase in container traffic. For Seafreeze / City Ice this meant increased volumes from both new and existing customers.
